Chairperson and Curator | Meanwhile…

This is a small curation non-profit based in Kent we put on exhibitions showcasing artists to promote diversity in the art community. During my time with Meanwhile.. we collaborated with the Turner Contemporary for the Platform Graduate Prize 2018 and most recently Create 98’s student show in Leigh-on-sea.

 

Gallery Assistant | Sidney Cooper Gallery, Canterbury

My roles included completing comprehensive condition reports, hanging and securely packing works, and handling work to artist-specific instructions. I have several months of experience in the mechanics and procedures behind show installations and show takedowns. I have also acted as a workshop assistant in children’s workshop events. 

 

Arts Program Volunteer | Catching Lives, Canterbury

My roles included encouraging clients to create work and try new techniques of making art such as lino printing and simple sculptures from recycled materials. For an exhibition held at the Beaney House of Art and Knowledge in celebration of the Canterbury festival.

Student Representative | Canterbury Christ Church University

My roles included speaking to fellow students, to find out their opinions on how the course was going for them. If they had any concerns, I would liaise with senior staff members, to resolve problems in a way that was beneficial to both parties. My main focus was on improving the student's experience, which taught me valuable lessons about the importance of maintaining well being of the people you work with.
